As a research technician I support a wide array of research projects of both PhD and Postdoc researchers within our department, looking into multiple systemic autoimmune diseases and viral infection and vaccination in solid organ transplantation. In these projects we look at both cellular and humoral characteristics and compare them to clinical data, which ultimately leads to a better understanding of underlying mechanisms of a disease or helps in finding a target for therapy. This translational and inter-disciplinary research is what drives me to assist and guide where needed on the lab.
