Centre for Infectious Disease Control, National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
Jelle de Wit is an immunologist specialized in B cell and T cell responses. His aim is to understand the development and maintenance of a protective B- and T- cell response against various pathogens. This encompasses immune responses upon infection with the pathogen, as well as the induction of long term immunity after vaccination. His expertise lies in immune responses against influenza, mumps and measles viruses, and SARS-CoV-2. This knowledge gained on the optimal induction of long term immune responses will further help in developing better vaccination strategies, especially in those persons that have suboptimal vaccination responses.
